Sermon Notes

The theme verse for our children’s ministry this year has been the second part of Romans 8:31, “If God is for us, who can be against us?” This morning we will look at the context of what God’s people were going through as Paul encourages them with these words. There was persecution they were dealing with as they affirmed Jesus as Lord and Savior and as they held steadfastly to a biblical view of morals and values in the midst of the culture they were in. But there were also the normal struggles and hardships of this life they were experiencing.

Paul shares all that God had already given them in their salvation by giving Jesus to die in their place. And since God was willing to do that, He will also give them the emotional and spiritual strength to overcome life’s struggles.
