“Paradise Promised”
Series: (All)
It wasn’t just the religious leaders or the soldiers that mocked Jesus, but also the two criminals that were crucified on either side of Jesus. But then something changed because the criminal on the right speaks up for Jesus, explaining that the two criminals are receiving their just due but “this man has done nothing wrong”. Turning to Jesus, he says “Jesus remember me when you come into your kingdom”  Luke 23:42           What great faith this repentant sinner had in Jesus, far more than doubting Thomas!  Jesus responded “Today you shall be with me in paradise”. Because of His great love for us, Christ Jesus died on the cross to redeem mankind, to save us from our sins.    As recorded in all four gospels, Jesus was mocked, scorned, and tortured. He carried His cross up the Via Dolorosa in Jerusalem to Calvary and was nailed to it. ‘But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners Christ died for us.’ Romans 5:8.
