Sermon Notes

This is the first message in our new series that will be based on our small group study Total Forgiveness by R. T. Kendall. It is impossible to live in our world of flawed and broken people without getting hurt and offended periodically. The key to the healing of those wounds is forgiveness.

Forgiveness, at its core, is a decision made to refuse to live in the past. It’s a conscious choice to release others from their sins against you so that you can be set free. It doesn’t deny the pain or change the past, but it does break the cycle of bitterness that can so strongly bind you to the wounds of the past.

This morning we will look at some misconceptions many people have about forgiveness. We will address “What Forgiveness is Not.”
