Sermon Notes

Last week in our study of The Lord’s Prayer, we looked at Matthew 6:10, “…your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” Jesus is teaching us to use part of our daily prayer time to surrender afresh to God as our King and Christ as our Lord. Part of that prayer can be letting go of control, asking God for the grace to be content, laying down our will and plans and seeking His, and trusting our loving, caring Heavenly Abba Father with the future.

This morning we are dealing with what Jesus is teaching us to pray with the statement, “Give us today our daily bread.” This is a prayer of dependence acknowledging that ultimately God is the source of all that we need and to ask for and trust God to meet our needs on a daily basis.
