“Tale of Three Cities: Magdala”
Today our journey through Galilee takes us to a prosperous town along the western shore, just a few miles from Tiberius, and on the way between Nazareth and Capernaum. Only one follower of Jesus is reported to have come from Magdala, her story is told in a few lines of scripture and it should be an inspiration to all of us.    The ruins of first century Magdala have been found, and they help us to affirm the Gospel message.

    “Tale of Three Cities: Capernaum”
We continue our visit to Galilee to the city Jesus called "home" after He left Nazareth. Here lived some of His most prominent disciples: Peter, Andrew, James, John and Matthew.    Capernaum was a major fishing village on the northwest side of the lake (the Sea of Galilee), and was on the trade route from Mesopotamia to Egypt. Here Jesus found widespread acceptance and a number of His miracles and most challenging teachings occurred. We will look at this site and find some lessons from the Master.

    “Tale of Three Cities: Nazareth”
We welcome Pastor Tom Goldthwaite bringing the message the next three weeks. Pastor Ron has been at our denomination’s annual conference this past week and will be on vacation the next two weeks.    In these three messages, we will be looking at three cities in Galilee where Jesus had significant ministry. They are places I visited in June, so they have a very special place in my heart.    As we look at what the Scripture says of them in relation to Jesus' preaching, teaching, miracles and the people He transformed, what are the lessons we can learn?    God sent His Son into a specific time and place. Today we will look at Nazareth, the childhood home of our Savior.

“Living with Principles in an Unprincipled World”
    Series: (All)
Our world has changed! Our culture no longer accepts the Ten Commandments as the basis for determining right and wrong. The phrase, "If it feels good, do it", better describes the attitude of the modern world. So how do we live in this alien culture? How do we hold on to the Biblical standard when the culture is constantly undermining it? I believe that Daniel faced the same question that we are asking today. When he was taken from Judah to Babylon, it was expected that he would become like his captors. But he didn't. He found the way to be God's agent in a strange land.
